A Feminist Approach to Localization: How Canada Can Support the Leadership of Women’s Rights Actors in Humanitarian Action
Local and national women‘s rights actors play an important role in humanitarian action. As established members of a community, they are well placed to deliver assistance quickly in a crisis and understand the needs of women in that context.
In order to best respond to the realities of communities on the ground, and support long term, sustainable transformation, it is necessary to have in place policies and approaches that span development, humanitarian and security work from a feminist perspective.
