Introducing ... GROW

The planet produces enough food to feed everyone. But the food system is broken.  It is broken so badly, in fact, that some of the hungriest people in the world are the same women who plant, pick and package food that the rest of us eat.

Every night, nearly a billion people go to bed hungry. Women and girls in particular, often eat last and least.

The planet produces enough food to feed everyone. But the food system is broken.  It is broken so badly, in fact, that some of the hungriest people in the world are the same women who plant, pick and package food that the rest of us eat.

Global demand for food is increasing. Food prices are rising. Climate change is undermining people’s ability to grow food for themselves and their communities.

But we can feed the world while protecting the planet’s resources. If we invest in women farmers, and build a sustainable food system in which natural resources are protected.

We need to change what we consume and how we consume it. We also need to change government and business policies that undermine people’s right to food.

So we've launched GROW – a new campaign calling for a dramatic change in the way we produce and share food, so that everyone has enough to eat.  Always.

To find out more, check out our online action centre. You'll find ways to learn, act, and share in support of the campaign.  You can also check out our GROW-related blogs, and read Growing a Better Future, the report that helped launch the campaign.

And, as always, we encourage you to join our e-street team, and find out how you can blog, tweet, and use Facebook in support of the campaign.
